Got a 1990 Ford maverick with the Tb42 carby engine. Have noticed that it is blowing out blue smoke at the back of the rocker cover. No signs of water in the oil or exhaust gas in the radiator. Using no oil or water. Is it possible that the gasket has gone and it's just letting smoke and a Lil bit of oil out?

take cover off and replace gasket. is cheap to do and might solve problem. if not will be able to start engine at least and see where is coming from whilst cover is off. just watch out for any oil spray while running.

sounds like you may have excess crank case pressure. Check your PCV valve is working and the breather hoses are clear. Is it actually blowing blue smoke out of the rocker or is it dripping onto the exhaust and burning. I'd suggest if there is blue smoke (burnt oil) coming out of the rock there is something seriously wrong.

Check you plugs - if they have burnt oil then series

Note the PVC valve sites between the carby manifold and the motor - its connected to the pipe comming up between the motor and carby
