Alright time to have a crack at this, took a few quick photos to put up here for the forum to discuss past, present and future modification. Open to constructive criticism good, bad and the ugly after all it is a public forum and any thoughts, opinions would be appreciated in the build and maintenance of my special interest, hobby, habit or near on addiction I'm sure you can relate to.

The Purchase: 2000 GU DX COIL CAB, bought second hand in 2006 with 162,000 kms on the clock. Belonged to owner/operator engineering company. Service history, steel tray, 2" heavy duty rear spring and snorkel, stock as a rock.

Why DX ?, because i'm not interested in electric windows or mirrors, carpet or single seats, I wanted what a 4wd represents to me, basic, minimal options to get me where I want to go. And it was well priced non-leaf rear exactly what I was looking for, perfect.

The rest of my build should go something like this,

Motor
*4" stainless snorkel
*Fatz air box
*UFI TD05 20G turbo
*Cross country intercooler
*Inlet manifold
*DC pump
*3.5" Exhaust up through the tray (Rear exit , not truck stacks!)
^Early to mid 2014 project.^

Suspension
*ACF SWAY BAR
Messages sent and replies received, hopefully 3 weeks, due to popular demand but will set me up with a kit.

Wheels
Still deciding between Allied or Walkers Bead-locked rims
16 x 8 in ALLIED or 17 x 8 in Evens

16 x 12.5 R16 Maxxis Trepadors... bet you would have never guessed.

Leaning towards the Allied's as I like side walls that bag out. My thoughts is the 17" rims less side wall faster cornering.

Drive line
*NPC clutch, Viper kit..... or
really putting some serious thought into AUTO TRANNY. No I'm not getting lazy, yes I am getting older but like the idea of extremly slow speed crawling and manualized auto. Hmmm serious consideration need here.

*20% or 40% reduction transfer case gears. BACK ON THE LIST.
Want to drive while winching with minimal tyre rotation to match winch speed. Dont like standard Nissan 1st low ratio, just not low enough.

(*NOTE*) The story behind me not going the UFI turbo in the first place was back in 2009 I was there in Redcliff and spoke to someone there don't know who and was not interested in there Mitsubishi turbo (Silly me) and was hell bent on having JPC set it up in the future with Garret turbo. Well what an idiot I was, had the opportunity to have it done there and said no thanks I'll wait just fit the High flow HT-18. Ahhh my biggest regret but its still goes ok, just ok.

WHy the smaller tyres in winter??
Thought bigger tyres for all the dug out mud runs??

otherwise awesome truck mate, dosent look over the top.
Love the tray
Cant get Simex's any bigger and Ive had them on other 4WD's etc since 2003 and love them in the mud and were well priced.
The Pro comp X- terrain are next to useless in the mud, clay, snow. Good for the road, rock, dry weather, only have them because they were brand new and very cheap.
Keen to try these Trepador's have seen them in action but the wife would go ape S H I T if I had another set of tyres lying around, so its wait for the X-terrain to wear down or sell a set. Bit like motor bikes no good having too many because you only have one arse.

looks awesome mate. Very keen to see how the ACF Swaybars go. These along with some OME coils will be my next project.

Nice ute!! Also love the inset tyre idea! Do you use it as a ute much? Does the tyre ever get annoying like that?

Another question is regarding the OME coils. How come they have sunk to 3.5-4in? I'm tossing up between OME coils (I can get them cheap from work) or Flexy coils, but I was thinking 4in heavy duty fronts, but would 5in be softer/more flexible? You have me thinking now!

Patrol Pron at its best!! Love it Bogger! Might have to steal the light facing the winch idea on your bullbar!

PS: Those tyres make the cab look smaller than it is.
