Hi all,
Thought I'd post up a few pics of my custom 2nd battery tray.
Bumper Automotive exterior Auto part

First version with EGR solenoids relocated underneath with some custom brackets. Had to extend the vacuum hoses a bit.

With floor and rubber installed.

2nd version with extra support, battery was too wobbly without.

It was knocked up in a mates workshop using offcuts of angle and flat steel - Free.
$7.50 for the clamp.
Bargain.

The finished system. (version 1)

Wired up and installed. Used an ABR Sidewinder DBi140R isolator and monitor, battery courtesy of the CFA.

CFA - Guy I bought the troll off runs the local CFA workshop. If a CFA vehicle has a battery issue, they change it out asap. They also fit new batteries yearly. Therefore they have a shite load of nearly new batteries. Got a couple, took em to battery world for a free load test (only reason to go there) and Bob's your aunties brother.

Now THAT is a GREAT piece of engineering!!

I have always baulked at spending $150+ on a aux battery tray. With my (very) limited welding skills, I knocked up the base frame months ago, but seeing your example, next lot of days off, I'm going to finish it off. Ta for that!

Excellent result for a bargain basement price! Some people pay $500 for a dual batt setup and you;ve done it for a song, WELL DONE!!

AND, some guys at work are in the (Qld equivalent) of the CFA; I'm going to check with them about batteries!!
