Not sure what they were doing, I suppose if we could understand them would know but I am thinking they are testing the capacity of the winch.

Yeah Gas, but if you listen right when the weight go's off the scale, you hear something snap. I think.

Thought of the name.. 'Shear bolt' or pin.

Or did the winch break. By the way they are laughing at the end, doesn't sound as if their to worried.

Some use the power steering pump.

Ox made one here and the pumps were sh*t and steering pumps only work for a very short time, not worth the hassle.

Pretty sure the OX was from Mile Marker?? Good reputation
I dont think TJM do them anymore, expensive and SLOW, but have some really big advantages too.

yes the ox winches were a rebranded mile marker winch which have a solid reputation.

just look them up.

you can get one from the states for around the $1500+ posted to oz. the ox winch was around $2500+ no mark up there at all.

tjm are or were the ozzie distributor.

they may be slow but they will go all day. and wont kill your battery or electrics.
and you dont have to worry about water in the solenoids etc.

and dont start the debate about if your car wont start because your warn winch wont help after about 1 minute anyway.

I have emailed Mile Marker, see what price, the Oz $ is $1.0197 at the moment and according to mates in the States they can get the Mile Marker for less that a grand, lets see.

As for the RUNVA, last price was $1450

Yeah those things are crazy fast and strong. They used them on commercial machinery and tractors originally. Insane speed and power, think it would be overkill unless your in competition. Would be an unfair advantage in a winch challenge no doubt Hahaha

Outers had a huge thread on Runva hydraulic winches some time ago. They're quite big in NZ. Toyed with the idea on my Datto before going HiMount, but baulked at another $1K to set up a dedicated hyd. pump for the winch alone. But they are still an awesome device!
