I am in Africa and had to rescue a new ford PU yesterday TWICE. When I returned I found what looked like clear oil ON TOP of the winch. I have only just bought this 1996 4.2 Nissan Safari last week. I have this issue and I would like to know what maintenance I might need to carry out. I do deep water crossings, mud bogs etc. It is not a hobby but just life here during the five months of the rainy season in Africa. I have other Land Rovers so this is my first Nissan in Africa. Loving it so far. Thank you for any help. Please direct me to another category if this is the incorrect one. My first post here on this forum.
