What are people's thoughts of, if or when Sdyney will be locked down. personally I reckon they will lockdown before XMAS to avoid the risks of family gatherings.
They may or may not. If a chitload of people are going to ignore an Xmas lockdown (and I'm sure plenty would), it becomes a question of, "Is it worth even trying?"

That's what they were trying to avoid in the UK, because I guarantee there will be plenty of people out and about on the 25th regardless.

Unless Boris takes a leaf out of the Chinese playbook and welds their doors shut .

I think Wednesdays press conference will see many questions answered.
I'm looking at leaving Sydney and getting to my farm beforehand. Looking at the Northern beaches lockdown, it was enforced by 5pm that day. So my guess is , if they announce in AM Wednesday, I reckon it will be enforced for 5pm Wednesday. Hence I need to be outa Sydney before 5pm. Starting to pack the Patrol tomorrow I think

I would think being prepared is the way to go, but the significant drop in cases for the last 24 hours, despite the massive increase in testing, is encouraging. Tomorrow mornings press conference will be key in making a forecast for the next 24 hours.

Lower numbers are a good sign, but one day does not a trend make.
True to a certain extent, but it is better than a poke in the eye with a burning stick, numbers halved from the previous day, if that happens again tomorrow it is a trend.

The bride has been staying with friends, (I don’t go and stay because of a tenant), a phone call this morning, there is going to be a lockdown and she’s in the area, either pick her up today or Tuesday, no guarantee that it would be lifted. Jump into the Hyundai and head down to pick her up. An extra hour on a three hour trip down, half hour extra on the journey back. Home now, safe and well.
Don’t have the stamina I used to have.

Just to add insult to injury, she is still required to self isolate for the period of the lockdown.
I was in the childrens hospital for an appointment with Alex today and heard about the lockdown on the news in the car on the way down there. They made sure we were out of town before 4 but upon looking up the health directive when we got home, found out that we also need to isolate fur the weekend! This has just topped off a day full of good news (not!)!!!

We were in the greater Brisbane area. Returned home yesterday and found out we have to "isolate" until 7pm next Monday. Happy to comply.

ACT has imposed 14 days isolation and two covid tests if returning from Greater Brisbane.

We really need an eastern states covid plan.

Schools will not start back for the 2021 year tomorrow, businesses forced to close

The WA Premier said to treat this week as an extension of the school holidays.
He also strongly encouraged that everyone in the locked down area who is from another WA region, to stay put.
"Do not travel further outside of this area until the lockdown is over. If you do need to travel outside the region, that can only occur if you need to return to your place of residence.
"The transport of essential goods into this region is permitted under our existing transport guidelines."
The lockdown means the following businesses, venues and locations need to close for the next five days:

A lockdown will begin from 6:00pm tonight in some WA regions
These areas include the Perth metropolitan area, the Peel region and the south-west region.
This lockdown will last until 6pm on Friday.
Mr McGowan said the five-day lockdown was "a crucial reaction to keep the community safe".
"We cannot forget how quickly this virus can spread.
"Nor the devastation it can cause."
Mr McGowan said following discussions with the Chief Health Officer and police commissioner, the following measures will be put in place from 6pm tonight:
  • People in the aforementioned regions are required to stay home except for the following four reasons: shopping for essentials like groceries, medicine and necessary supplies; medical or healthcare needs, including compassionate requirements and looking after the vulnerable
  • Exercise within your neighbourhood is only allowed with one other person and only for one hour per day
  • When you cannot work from home or remotely, you may go to work
  • If you do leave home for one of the four reasons you will be required to wear a mask at all times outside, and if you need to do work indoors, then wearing a mask is also mandatory
  • Mask wearing on public transport is also mandatory

as long as its not clear who will have access to the data (in the Netherlands for example the govt.subsidised body that does all the testing has a miassive dataleak and anyone could (still can) really see private data of tested people) i am not willing to pass this info on. in Colombia previously for travelling by air nationally one had to put a corona tracking app on the phone which i did, only to uninstall it the minute i walked out of the arrivals hall
