hey everyone only a newie on here but long time patrol owner. i have had my gq ute for 5 years has 7 inch lift custom tray all that stuff. have had cracks on the inner chassis just before where it starts to curve up before the back wheels. also had cracks just behind the spring tower in the rear. i think the ones in the rear are from the tow bar hitting the ground and pulling out bloody toyotas. just wondering if anyone else has had any cracks come up?

You've been carrying heavy things on corrugated roads right?

well the first cracks closer to the cab were from previous owner and got them repaired before i purchased it. the ones towards the rear were from me and not unless you call a dirt bike heavy i dont carry heavy loads. i was just curious if it was a common problem or not. thanks for your reply tho ill search for it. cheers

very common.
cracks in the middle are because the ute tray stiffens the back concentrating all of the flex at one point.
spring towers are a known weak point. You can buy plate kits to reinforce it.
You're fortunate its a ute. its relatively easy to remove the tray for access.

Is it the spring seats that are cracked or the chassis?
chassis behind the springs is unusual. please post some pictures.
