Hey all i was looking at a crd today that I'm thinking of buying and it has this oily looking patch at the front of the motor does anyone know what it could be? I'm to use to my old 42 im not very familiar with 3l cheers

From the side it just looks like the banjo bolt. If it is my mechanic just added some tape to the thread and tighten it up

Looks like the crank oil seal... Thats what mine looked like when I had it fixed....

Leaking from the big grub screw into the timing cover? Pretty standard for them unfortunately.

Is it anything serious? Unfortunately that's the only photo I could manage to get.

I cant even figure out what oil you are talking about.

If the oil doesn't look wet, and if the car hasn't been offroad recently (for dust to cling to the oil making it look dry) I wouldn't worry about that oil leak.

If that's the worst thing you could find on that car, its worth the purchase!
And don't worry, its not my car!

Nah nothing serious if that's where its coming from. Mine leaks from there too, i just clean it off every service.
