Well sadly i picked up some bad fuel the other day and the GQ has not been funning right since ie. burping and farting and cutting out at intermittent stages. After looking at my electrical system i have discounted that as the problem.

So my question is......

What is the easiest way to drain some 60L of crappy petrol?

The best way to flush the whole fuel system?

FYI, Its a '90 4.2 Petrol GQ :)

Cheers Guys

i gather it is carby? if not just dissconnect the fuel line at the injectors and run another line from that to a container, if it is then park on a neighbors front lawn..... , there should be a bolt in the bottom of the tank which will drain the fuel,

if it is just water in the tank wouldnt metho help dilute and absorb it

With all the flooding in Vic recently some underground tanks may have taken in a little water.

Thanks for the swift responses

And yeah it is a carby, If it is water i would be much happier just to drain it and be done with it. I found the little bolt at the bottom but i was thinking WTF do i do with it then!!

And the best way to flush the fuel lines ect.

Hmm i may also look into the pump.

Cheers

Best way to flush the lines
Compressed air
Unhook both end of fuel lines, run the air from 1 end to the other
60L of fuel to be rid of , local tip ???,
Tip it on some weeds,
Store it in the shed and use it for cleaning parts ect
Go buy some cheap crappy fuel filters
Run em for a week then throw ,do this a few times
Then buy some better fuel filters
