Don't know Mic, it took several years for vortex diesel to make it up the caost, but the warning is from RACQ so it's here somewhere. That's the sort of mistake my handbrake would make though, its all petrol to her.

The article states "only a small number of Saabs and a few VE series II Commodores are compatible" Not sure why only a "few" VE series II Commodores get the nod.

I would have thought some of the French and German engines might have been compatible, but there not included in this article.

The octane is lower- most studies say you'll used around 30% more, so untill it's 30% cheaper its a pointless excercise ( plus youd need to be saving a motza to make the engine damage economically viable)

ethonol 85 octane, almost all new cars can run on it even the sticker under the fuel door of our SSV Commodore sas so. the result is lower burn temp thu useing more fuel but the goverment & greenies would like us to believe "CHEAPER" because of the low octane you cant achieve as high hp readings as regular unleaded or 98....

No! you need to burn more to achieve the same as high octane fuel its a so called GREEN alternative to lower you NO2 levels omitted from youe engine. Rave fuel is High octane fuel Av-gas I am pretty sure is 110 octane the higher the octane level the more efficient it is toextract the most out of an engine & you can run more advanced timming with out pinging of power loss. As a rule to run higher ethonol you need to de-tune & run a cooler plug...well thats the way it was when we us to build race cars.

The old diesel wasn't much good but the new Vortex Diesel is definantly a better fuel.
I fill up with BP if I can't find Vortex now. Won't touch the rest.
Really? How much bettr? I'm interested.
