do you mean it is not inside the car? i thought such electronic box should be inside of the car?
yeah inside look towards clutch pedal and above tunnel

What does it look like?
A metal box roughly 250 x 150 x 40, attached to the firewall by brackets and 3 screws, towards drivers side just above transmission tunnel.

Yes, the one with the two big black connectors at the bottom.

No big deal, look on top of the trans tunnel as stated earlier, ignition off and to be absolutely sure of no adverse reaction in case of a short, disconnect the battery, the ECU has power to it all the time. If your really careful when you undo the loom plug there is no real need to disconnect battery, but it is a safety option.
