Hi All......I read recently a discourse of which gauges one should put into our Escape Modules.
Perhaps we should try to simplify things a little....Before we get too confused ...Donks need 3 elements,
Breathe in, Burn something and Breathe out..........'Fineto'
Breathe in: They need Clean (Cool) Air.. Snorkels/Filters and Intercoolers . Our choice of Snorkels and air filtering combinations systems is quite good. Enter the Catch Can, keep that snot out of our engines.
Something to Burn: Fuel delivery systems. We are Blessed with so many choices, There are many cleaver people who can optimize our fuel delivery, get that clean burn...Chips ETC. Breathe Out: Big Arse exhausts and all the bolt on gizmos....BUT... the One essential Piece of gear most people overlook is the EGT gauge. The Exhaust Gas Temperature Gauge tells you when you are overloading your motor,
if it spikes up quickly you know to drop down one cog...ETC. Of late we have been distracted by cranky missus, noisy kids and yobbo mates....which makes it difficult to drive by 'feel and sound'. Install and observe the EGT gauge and see how it improves your performance as an off road driver. Just saying.
