So i just bought this 2000 4.2 turbo diesel ute.. Injectors and glow plugs had been replaced, however car still struggled to start, probably took about 3 to 5 turns before it kicked over, and then just huge amount of white smoke and engine would miss pretty bad for a good 2 minutes or so..
I have checked the gause screen, checked all lines to injector pump for air leaks, still missing and such.. Cracked the injectors starting from front of block, just to make sure all had fuel getting to them, and when i cracked the 3rd one, engine nearly stalled up and then a knocking noise started..
Do injector pumps do this when stuffed, or do i have bigger problems actually inside the block?
Any ideas on whats going wrong or what i need to do...
Cheers,
Scott.
