Hi,

I want to tap into the out put from the engine temperature thermal switch (or what ever it is called). The one that determines the engine has reached operating temperature.

Where can i locate the output from this switch.

Cheers

Bump

Quoting Patrol 97 from here:

http://www.patrol4x4.com/forum/niss...wes-valve-dual-needle-setup-42841/index2.html

add on another solenoid in serial connection to the boost control solenoid and this solenoid is controlled by the engine temperature thermal switch ( 80 degree to switch on high boost). End quote.

Can anyone direct me an ouput from this Switch? ANd does it turn on or off when the engine reachs operating temp?

Cheers,

Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor

Some research has partially answered my question. There does not appear to be any thermal switch but there is an Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECT) Sensor located high on the front of the cylinder head. This feeds a variable voltage between 0 & 4.8v via a LG/R coloured wire to terminal 19 on the ECU.

I'm going to look at using this varying voltage.
