Trust me, it’s a quick and dirty paint job…
I didn’t clean anything, just painted over whatever was there, although the block and head have been cleaned by the engine builder so it might stick for a while.

But, if the paint doesn’t last, the engine will still function the same.

A coat of paint adds big value.
Many years ago I pressure washed a motor (pressure washers weren’t common and I had to take it to a garage that had it), all the lovely reddish paint came off to display some very dirty reddish/orange paint. That motor took a bit more building than I really wanted to do. Uni students aren’t noted for having spare $’s, especially when there is a bride and three kids. 🙄
