so its been doing it for a couple weeks now, just havent thought much about it, but when driving for at least 20min along a main road using the higher ratio gears, the shift leaver gets more than a tad warm. the cover on the shift arm has slid down a little, exposing an inch of the metal arm and this gets quite warm. enough to make you wince. there seems to be a bit of heat floating around the cab from the centre piece between seats too. anyone had this before? any ideas what it is? i had the mechanic do oil checks last time it had its big service, not even 10,000km ago.

have the same problem, the upside is that when camping it means that the mattress is alreadu quite hot - great for winter, not so flash for summer though.

haven't worked out whether its the driveline or the exhaust system as I do have a 3". that got so hot last week it buggered up the heat exchange between my tank and the servos - I had to spray the LPG tank to shift the temp so that it could receive gas from the bowser.

so, check your exhaust system as well
