As per my previous thread i have replaced the exhaust manifold gasket on my sd33t and discovered that there is still an exhaust leak - is it possible that the exhaust manifold is warped and may need machining?

Did you use the nissan gasket?

A lot of guys have had problems with the non nissan gaskets not sealing - search the forum

Thanks for the replies everyone - i did use an aftermarket gasket so perhaps it is contributing to the problem. Is the genuine item terribly expensive?

just check that the bracket from the turbo mine done the same you may have to grind heaps of bracket it where it bolts on to side of engin block, as it holds the exhaust manifold away from the head. just lay under forby and get a torch and shine up and check for gaps there thats where mine was leeking bad. after the first gasket blew out only after a week!! so i ground the bracket took heaps off it is great now!! plus its not a nissan gasket i just got it of repco think it was about $ 38 or so.cheers!!
i also got my manifold machined it cost around $ 80 its all goood ,
