I know this subject has been discussed before however I'm after any suggestions for retail outlets in western Sydney who specialise in exhaust upgrades for 4WDs. I am considering an upgrade to my 2001 GU Patrol to a 2.75 or 3.0 inch exhaust system as a preliminary step before also installing a DP chip when dollars permit. Can anyone recommend a business who knows what they are doing so I can discuss my plans and arrange for a new exhaust. Also if someone has done a similar upgrade I would welcome any advice as I'm uncertain what is best, 2.75 inch or 3.0 inch.

Regards

Hi Nikolay,

It’s ok to remove the silencer because the sound is checked at the tailpipe with a gauge and provided it isn’t too loud, it should pass. We are not able to remove the catalyst legally, but many do and not all have to pass regular inspections. If we get caught without a cat, it can be expensive. It’s best to fit a high flow 100 or 200cpsi cat or make it easily removable as I have done.

Just put a deposit on one, (on layby sort of), will pay a bit more December and get it in January. They are very good people to deal with. So far they have sold around 240 systems for the 3.0L Patrol.

Comes with 3" stainless exhaust, and they will weld in a fitting for the EGT sensor.

Once it get it, I will let you know how it goes.

Combined 3" stainless exhaust and chip is less than $3000 delivered. Aluminized steel is about $300 cheaper.

If you mention the forum you might get another 10% off as per http://www.patrol4x4.com/forum/408839-post10.html (I did not see that post until after I ordered, so have just sent them an email asking for a discount)

Not sure about these compared to the s/stell and aluminized options, but the price looks good!
