I know very little about GQ's but if it is difflock related and that vacuum tube goes into the back of it (can't see clearly from the pic) I'm guessing it's a vacuum switch that turns on the dash light when the diff lock is engaged.

thankq for the help i have no aircon so yer it has a screw in the end of the line and there is a nipple on the alternator, that is just in the air with no line on it any help with thag peps???

Your car at some stage would have had air con and this would have increased the idle revs when the a/c pump turned on. If no longer in service the screw will be blocking the vaccum in the line escaping. can be blocked off and removed if you dont plan to install a/c again
