Hey guys i have justt bought my first patrol/ 4wd last week! 09 crd dx auto. Stock as a rock
Been researching this forum non stop and cant put it down.
( to the point where the mrs says I don't care about her anymore haha)
Was wondering if anyone could point me toward a good mechanic/auto elec/4x4 workshop in the western sydney/Campbelltown area preferably one that is experienced with zd30's
Wanting to get the egt-boost gauges fitted first before I begin other mods as i am not much of a mechanic.
Would I need to source the gauges and pods?

Welcome to the forum, we have many Sydney siders who own ZD30's so I'm sure someone will have a recommendation for you, just be careful as we often hear of so called "experts" who recommend some weird things, you may be able to find someone who can do you a deal on all the bits plus fitting but as I say take care with some of the advice. Usually a CRD does not require a Dawes and Needle valve, BUT, under some circumstances after fitting big exhausts and blocking EGR some CRD's do respond well to being fitted with them, we have many CRD members who have them fitted, so don't let anyone tell you they are definitely NOT needed, they could be one of those "experts" I referred to before, one thing I've learned over the years that each vehicle is a little different to its mate.

I'll move this to the CRD section but while your at it read the archives in the DI section particularly the section on NADS (post #3) and you will get a lot of good info and background there, as said not all related to the CRD but still relevant to all ZD30's, they are still basically the same engine, the latter having better and more sophisticated engine control, but we can make our DI's just as competitive, sometimes more so.

Thanks for the advice,
I did read that about the crd's hence why I thought the gauges would be a good place to start so I could see how the car responds to each mod and act accordingly.
A part of me wishes I became a mechanic instead of a plumber haha
