Front coil spring tower drama.
I went to replace my front bump stops and have found that the entire bit the bump stop bolts into is rusted out. The rest of the spring seat that holds the spring up looks ok. I knew I had a bit of rust in there, but I didn’t realise it was this bad. What to do? Can I just get a plate welded in, or do I need to replace the whole lot?

I cut the whole bottom out and welded in a plate. I’ve used half of a 3mm thick galvanised framing bracket from bunnings. As you can see, it leaves a lot of gap for better drainage now. Just gotta prime and paint now.
