Hey guys

Recently i acquired a cheap GQ 4.2 Petrol. On driving in 2wd goes fine. i locked in the hubs and 4h and the patrol seemed very restrictive and the front end was constantly bouncing up and down, This also occured in 4L

I left the hubs locked in and placed transfer into 2wd, The patrol continued to have the same problem causing the front end to bounce and be restrictive, Once unlocking the hubs all returns to normal

Can somebody please help to narrow down my search as to what could be causing this problem

sounds like you have a different ratio diff in the front to the back. if you put it on some fairly loose dirt and mark the top of the front and back tires then drive forward in 4x4 one rotation then check if the lines still are at the top. if they are different ratios both lines wont be at the top.
if that is the case you will need to change your front (or back) diff center.

other then that do you have the same diameter tires on the front?
that would do it too.
