Got a couple of questions about patrol manual gearboxes. I have managed to snap the input shaft on my tb48 manual gearbox. Firstly have many people done this or heard of it I haven't been able to find to many examples of it, is the GQ box stronger then the GU? Also has anyone rebuilt one of these gearboxes just want to know if the input shaft can be removed out the front of the gearbox without fully stripping it down.

Gq and gu boxes run different tooth counts on input (4th gear) And cluster.
My current gearbox is a mish mash of gq tb and leafy gu boxes.
But input can be changed without fully diassembling box, need to remove 5th off cluster and cluster bearings to drop it to bottom of box so you have clearance to remove input.

Yeh righto i have a couple of spare gearboxes i can use for the time being but would like to use the 4.8 box for the ratios wonder if any of the other input shafts are actually stronger.
