Hi All

I'm still fairly new to the whole owning a diesel thing.

Are glow plugs something that should be change every X amount of k's?

I've got a GUII ZD30 235,000km and fairly confident that it's running the original glow plugs.
Should i replace them?

Hi Pep

I just recently changed mine at approx 186000km, 2000 zd30 only reason was when cold starting it would blow a bit of black smoke and seemed to struggle a bit to start. Starts a treat now!

Unless you are having troubles with starting I would leave them alone, as for a set time to change them no idea.

Cant really determine at what Ks or what vintage to replace them at

This is what happen to me,We pulled down my ZD30 for a cracked dead at 140k . I noticed No3 piston had some dints in it and looking at the glow plug the tip was missing. The end of the glow plug ended up implanted on the edge of the piston making the piston run up and down the bore . Then heard that you should replace them at 100k because this is a problem.
