Having a 4.8 patrol with abs/gas and not really keen on the idea of having a secondary battery in the rear I was looking into replacing my current battery with something quite powerful so when I go away I can keep the fridge in the back going. Any recommendations?

Mate I ran a trogan 130 amp hour deep cycle on its own for years I can guarantee it'll last just need to keep water up to it.
Needs a slight trim of the battery box to fit.

I suppose the rational for having a secondary battery system is that the high usage systems are autonomous from your cranking system.

I hear where you are coming from but personally I would rather keep the cranking system and general use system autonomous.

Yeah no need for dual batteries especially with 200 watts of solar

Have only ever used a single N70 sized Super charge battery for the last 10 years and always had enough power to start in the morning. I now have 100w of solar since adding a few camp lights and gadgets.
