Does anyone know how often Google Earth updates its satellite images ?

I've been living in this house for nearly 2 years and the block next door is a vacant block, house burnt down about 3 1/2 years ago, but Google still shows a house there

Thats no more than 1.5 months old. I cut some trees down and its been taken since then.

Yeah I use it a fair bit for pricing work. Depending where you are looking it can be magic or just a blur. If you go to the blue tabs at the top right of screen (and hover over them) you can see what dates the photos are from. You can toggle between photos of different ages by selecting the one you want. Handy if I'm looking at a quarry and need to work out where old bench areas have been pushed over and vegetated etc. Between this site and google with its streetview function I dont need to go and visit as many site to price work.

good find Watto, loads up quicker than g e too. pity it doesnt cover outback areas so we could check out floods etc.

Yeah they have been everywhere about a month ago, but for some reason they haven't updated it yet.

That will be for streetview. Google Earth itself is taken from satellites.

The high def stuff is from arial photography.

Nearmap is not accurate at all for our place. Our street is not even on here and it's been here nearly 20 years! :shock:
