im a bit of a noob here so sorry if this is a dumb question
is the 4.2 diesel, gearbox and tfer case from a GQ the same as a GU???? (other than the factory turbo) i did try doing a search but came up witrh an error?????
ive found a cheapish gq 4.2 and a blown gu 3litre and im thinking of a conversion

i would just out the gq engine, box etc etc and stick in the rolling chassis of the gu

arent the gq's 24v start + charge? they are in the uk. you will need an alternative starter / alternator and fuel stop solenoid on the injector pump.

An engine mount needs relocating - but have the two side by side and its easy.

only the imports (ie safari's) have 24v system. All other patrols are 12v. Just to clear that up for you ;)
