Well guys, looks like like I'm on the move again. We are heading north to Grafton to house/farm sit for the inlaws for a few years whilst they travel Oz. It looks like Im off to find new experiences. Starting all over again, finding a job, all the good things that make life interesting.
If theres anybody on here that knows the Grafton Area, can you give me some insight into the area, job market, 4wd areas, thatt sort of thing. It would be great to get some insight. We will be up there in early to mid jan 11.

Central nsw area nice.
I usually pass straight through grafton after stopping at the maccas on way north.
Not far from lovely coffs and beautiful beach access for camping etc. At least watagans will be easier to get to next year!!!

Yes so I have heard, apparently we will be looking after about 80 acres, so my backyard is a decent size to put a couple of tents up, lol. Might be lucky enough to be allowed a couple more toys.

Yes, I am, am just awaiting dates before we move, supposed to be before mid jan. Supposed to be some good areas up there to 4wd. Also puts me closer to my folks in brissie.I like the idea of 80 acres to play on, lol.

work is a bit slack in grafton atm but you should be able to find it given time.
4wding is pretty good with fortis creek nat park up the road toward casino, coffs/nana glen/ glenreagh area has some awesome wheeling and your a half days drive to rover park via the baryulgil road with the ramornie nat park and the buccarumbi range to the west
The coast from arrawarra to yamba has some secluded and fantastic spots to swim and fish with red rock being a favourite of mine. Try the free ferry across the clarence at ulmarra and fish off the floating bridge at maclean (sharks, jewfish and rays)

Enjoy it up there

Oh and try the lions road through kyogle/the risk cuts a good hour off the trip heading toward brissy

eathanboris, thanks for that. Will have to have a look at all those areas, once we get settled. Going to be nice to be in the country again instead of the rat race.

What do you do for a living? I grew up in Grafton and still have friends and family down there. The work scene in Grafton always has and always will be ****. My old man is a diesel and heavy vehicle mech and he works as a bus driver now, there's very little work and most of it won't pay above minimum wage.

Wheeling wise its a great place, plenty of different stuff with in a hours drive. Nice camping areas and all that jazz.

Gumbs, currently I am the warehouse manager for a Events Company here in Canberra. I hold truck and forklift licences and my background is 27 years in the Navy. I can pretty much turn my hand to anything. Once i get there I will have a look around and see what is available.

i lilive 25min west of Grafton in between Seelands And Copmanhurst is only a 7 min drive, the place is actually called mylneford. Fortis Creek is only 15 mins form home, and Rover park, Emu Creek are only an hour and a half Drive Via Copmanhurst,Baryugil.

Ethanboris i believe you owned a G60 Patrol, And you seen to know abit about the Place Grafton, Do you have Relatives up here ect, its a shame you dont have that G60 anymore i would of brought if from you and made it number 4 G60 in my Collection
