Damn 22psi?!

I've had my 2.8 up to 104-105ish, mid 30's ambient temperature, towing 2 tonnes.

I take it you have a ecutalk or similar?

FYI, when mine was 105ish, It was showing a bit over half on the gauge, but nowhere near the red.

With a stock turbo 22psi is not really great.

Turbo is well out of its efficiency range.

If u havent had ur radiator done I would suggest u do as the 2.8 are prone to cracking heads.
Mine never used to aboue 90 (ecu talk) after I had radiator cleaned and new head fitted.
Might even pay to check ur fan as if its low speed sand work ur fan shoukd have locked up too

They are designed to run at 110.

The issue is you are getting close to absolute maximum.

So if you are at that temp you need to keep an eye out.

Mine has been up to 110 on a very steep very long hill climb on road.

Flat in 3rd and it was so steep I nearly changed down to second at the top.

It's never got to 110 even after a day in the dunes at Robe in plus 35 degree heat.

Cheers
