Finally got the truck back from Gove Motors today.

Story is: Clutch got stuck, pedal would return but the clutch wouldn't. Mechanic checked master cylinder and it seized while he was working on it. Got them to replace the Master and Slave Clutch Cylinders. He called me and said he still wasn't happy, so they pulled the gearbox apart. All looked good in there.

He investigated more and discovered that the master cylinder was leaking clutch fluid into the clutch booster. $500 to recondition with a 4 day turn around (everything here is air freighted, remote location) or $1300 for a new booster. I took the recondition option.

Picked it up today and it feels like a brand new car!!! All up just over $1k to repair.

Surely if he replaced the master and it was faulty then he should carry the cost of repairing it.

You're right about being remote!

I have sent three awnings there in the last couple years and they each took 17-20 days to get there! (I thought I'd lost one each time) I can flick them to remote towns in WA in around 7-10 days!
