Gu Patrol Interior Roof Rod racks

Nice idea.
I have been just using Velcro straps to hold rods along the side of the roof to the top grab handles. But that means all the reels are banging together or even if I use neoprene wetsuit type reel covers to keep them snug, then it is a bugger to undo the bundle of four rods to get one out in a hurry.

Another project coming up.

Thanks

How much was the rhino rack channel? The reason I ask is unistrut sounds like a Cheaper way to so it and you won't have to cut it. Might not be able to get it in ally though... Just a thought for anyone else doing this mod.

RT Tracks - #RT9 | Rhino-Rack

I used this stuff which is meant to mount to the roof and then be the support for Rhino Sports legs of the Sports rack. Cost $100 for a pair of strips 1.2m long each so there is a bit left over for other roof rack attachments.

Note that it is a slim line channel so only the slim type Rhino nut things fit into it not the big commercial bar or HD bar nuts. Like ABM used in the first post.

There are a few styles RT for Roof Track and RTC for Roof Track Canopy

RTC Tracks - #RTC10 | Rhino-Rack

RTS is roof track specialty and seem to cost more
They are all sold in pairs and many different lengths

Tracks | Rhino-Rack

Or you do what ABM did and get he Rhino HD cross bars and cut down.
Heavy Duty Bar - #RB1120B | Rhino-Rack

Batt's, I think they are a Rhino rack shovel holder.

Hey and where did you get the foam clamp with velcro strap type that you showed in the other thread.

I have used a bit of Rhino track in the roof but it would also be good to have a soft foam clamp up near the front of the rods.
