I am in the process of fitting a GU turbo(water cooled) to my GQ 4.2, i need to know if i need to run a restrictor in the oil inlet to the turbo, if so what size?
Also any suggestions for online suppliers for oil and water lines?
well when i just reinstalled a gu turbo onto a td42t motor there was NO restriction in any lines or anything like that. just came out of the banjo bolt in side of block thru probably 4mm steel line then straight into turbo.
as i said journal bearing turbos are like a big end or mains bearing and require a fair amount of oil to keep the thing floating in oil. its only a ball bearing turbo setup that requires restricters as they require far less oil due to their bearing nature.
so just put her on and happy days.
cant really help ya with lines though. as we used all factory lines.
