Hey guys, im chasing a GU ute cab to convert my wagon over. Theyre so damn hard to find, can anyone enlighten me on where to look?

Also, whats the go with registering it? just change over the body numbers and its sweet? Or does an engineer have to sight it or anything?

Hi mick,
Have you considered buying a wagon and cutting ing into a ute .. I did it in a 4.8.. (You can use whatever you want).. And you can cut it anywhere you like to get a little extra leg room (like a wagon), or as much as a space/ dual cab.. They don't charge any difference where they cut it and there's a good chance you may buy the wagon cheaper than a ute..
I was charged $6600 for my cut drive in drive out, fully painted and engineered, it was 2-3 years ago so it has possibly gone up some.. I used 4B Fabrications in carrum Melbourne..
Just a thought.. Not sure what your current situation is..
