The long thin LED type. (32.5x20mm from memory) Same type that stainless used in his rear bar except I will only have a stop/tail and indicator in mine. Rear Bar GU DX : PICS ADDED of mkII wheel carrier 2 Oct 09
I thought about only putting in an indicator because I have wired up the dummy lights in mine, but I thought the men in blue might not like it. I ordered the lights last week so they should be here in a couple of days.

G'day Chuckles. No, I'm not doing spare carriers ATM. I don't need them. I don't plan to run tyres any bigger than 265/75 r16 so I recon I will get away with leaving the spare on the door.

The bar I have made will hold the weight of 2 spares if required though.

No swerve, I made up a spacer for the rear door to raise up the spare so the bar can fit underneath no worries.

If I had my time again I would make the gap at the top of the bar between the tail lights and the bar a bit wider. Out at Rover park a few weeks ago I dropped into a big hole and the bar had just enough flex to kiss the tail light and crack the lens.:headwall:

Apart from that, I have given it a flogging and it has come through with flying colors. :D

Hi mate. Top work on your bar looks great. I see what you mean though about having it close to the lights. When i did mine i left about 15mm gap between top of bar and 1/4 panel. It has had a few hard knocks also and has not moved.

Pic of mine

Love it. I've got a couple fabrication technique questions.
What size RHS did you use?
Where the sheet steel meets the RHS do you weld the entire join, or stitch it and use a sealant/bog?
For the upper "skirt", is it bent out of one piece or did you weld the return into the wheel well?

Cheers in advance
