Hello all im a newby here, have had patrols for years. Just recently bought a 2000 GU ute TD42 blown motor in pieces no head eccetera ,anyway its all fresh now new thick liners ceramic pistons etc. Ive had it running but wouldnt rev over 2-2500 revs, ive changed filter, cleaned gauze in pump and fitted a holley red elec pump now it revs higher but starts breaking down higher revs, any input would be appriciated, im going to fit a differnt elec pump as this one is leaking a little bit which may be causing air issues, my question is what sort of pressure should i be forcing into the injector pump if any? This is just tempory fix so i can drive atm until i can find a solution for this problem. Problem being with everything all as standard - wont rev over 2-2500

Many of us use a Carter 4601 as a lift pump, which produces about 15 psi from memory. Even this amount of pump pressure is fine, by the time it gets from electric pump to injector pump. Your Holley red should work just fine as long as its in good order.

Have you set your pump timing correctly???
