Hi All, just thinking of changing the front discs on my 4.5 GU, has anyone installed DBA slotted rotors? Did they improve braking much?

Cheers, Col

Oh hell yes,

Previous patrol had the slotted rotors with DBA pads to suit. Patrol was running 35's with 5inch lift, front $ rear bar with dual tyre carrier. With all that weight, it stopped veryyyyy well pretty much a like a normal car.

I highly reccomend these for any vehicles!!!

I've got some RDA slotted rotors on mine, seem pretty good. Can be bought at Gippy Offroad in Officer
too, not that far from you. And to be totally honest, he is a friend of mine, use him to do all the work
on my wagon nowdays.

I'm running the RDA slotted disc's an matching pads on the front of the Mav .Improved the brakes heaps over standard.
I'll be fitting the same to the coil cab when it's ready for new brakes.

The RDA
Rotors

DBA

My experience with the DBA (roo paw) slotted street series, now called 4x4 survival series.
Good improvement in braking, on and off road. Can get clogged up when playing in mud filling the slotts.

First I used Bendix 4WD pads on the DBA rotors as was recommended to me by the DBA guy, they were good, good stopping, little dust production but did cause a lot of heat buildup in the rotors during heavy towing and freeway driving leading to a blue tinge on the rotor after each slot and uneven braking as I slowed down the last bit before stopping.

Changed back to Nissan pads and it has been great ever since with no aparrent damage to the discs. Now at about 50,000km since fitting the rotors, they are still looking good with very little wear on the front DBA rotors with Nissan pads and a bit more notable wear on the rears witch still have the Bendix4WD pads.
