Looks about right, did this around 2 years ago. Remove bolt and see what you get, you may need to lever the bolt head with a screwdriver while you undo the bolt. If it isn't to bad a helicoil may do a repair if a warranty claim isn't successfull.

What I thought to so I thought I made a rookie mistake but I don't think I have here

So foot pound setting on the wrench correct? And idle cam on head and not block your checking ?
Affirmative, did you mention you may have applied the nm numbers to the ft/lb setting of your wrench?

Ft/lb max is 42, nm max is 57, if those numbers were confused there could be an issue, just exploring possibilities.

The manual reads 49-57NM (5-5.8 kgm, 37-42 ftlb), so if you went 50 ftlb that’s obviously wrong.
That is what I was suggesting earlier, if the nm number of 57 was used as ft/lb instead of the correct max of 42 then that is a 28% increase over recommended max.
My question now is when the thread was pulled out was it already a helicoil? If yes then there could be an issue, if not then easy fix.
