My headlights on my 1990 Maverick are not working.
Have tried brand new LED lights but didn't work.

Could it be a fuse, or is my wiring no good?

You should always start with the fuse, so have a look at that. Be aware though, that on occasion the buggers look ok, but won't carry a load. I have had them even test ok with a multimeter, but won't power anything. So chuck in a spare one as a test.

Then get back to us with what you find.

Are you sure? I thought GQs didn't have headlight relays from the factory.
From memory, that's correct. I rewired my old man's and put relays in because the contacts have a habit of burning out inside the combination switch, especially running higher wattage globes. The old mqs were the same. I just used 2 x 30a relays, one each for high beam and low beam. Even with 100w h4s in them, they won't pull more than that for the pair of them. Also replaced the h4 connectors and rewired them with heavier gauge wire from the new relays. Been heaps better since doing that.

Could also be the light switch in the car stopping the lights from working. common fault on the GQ's
