Blue cheese, who else loves them, on crackers, mixed in with other cheeses when cooking. Lotsa people hate them, try a very small amount with something else, you’ll eventually develop the taste. Like chilli, you need to develop the taste. Once you do, you’ll be looking for different varieties.

I've put blue cheese into a roast before today. ;)

I surprised myself last night.

I do a beef roast each week, nothing like a good roast, and I get plenty of left over medium rare meat for sannies during the week.

However, always up for something new so I went looking for something different to do with the veggies to spice it up and found this.

Roasted Pumpkin with Root Vegetables and Broccoli.

1 pound fresh pumpkin, peeled and cut into 1-inch chunks

1 head broccoli, cut into small pieces

1 red beet, peeled and cut into 1-inch chunks

1 sweet onion, chopped

1 sweet potato, cut into 1-inch chunks

1 red potato, cut into 1-inch chunks

3 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

2 tablespoons honey

1 tablespoon minced garlic, or more to taste

2 teaspoons ground black pepper

1 teaspoon ground cloves

½ teaspoon ground allspice

½ teaspoon sea salt

I halved the amount of sweet spud (it was huge) and broccoli, added in a couple of large field shrooms, some cauliflower and a yellow squash and tossed it all in the spice mix.

There was about 1/4 cup of the spice mix in the bottom of the mixing bowl when finished so I added that to the gravy later.

Talk about fecken good !!!

Will be doing my veg more often like this, and the peppery kick went so well with the beef and gravy.

My only biatch was that the recipe said the veg would take 35mins, but it took an hour. But that was ok as I rested the beef for 20mins which gave them time to cook.

Mmm, mmmmmm.

And talking about a previous post and chicken schnitzel.

Every Thursday I go down to the lighthouse hotel for their schnitzel night.

$12.90 for members.

You want chicken that was probably fed on steroid soaked corn, check this sucker out ...

The things are bloody huge.

I take my tabasco down and soak it in it. mmmmm.
