Install for 100W HID Kits into Hella 4000's.

What you start with H1 100W halogen.

Globe removed and new one to be installed.

New 100W HID globe installed

Wiring all done inside and taped back up with wiring shroud.

New bulbs in Hella frame.

I had some 35W in my 4000's, but the little box (cant' think of the real name) was a couple of mm too deep so pushed out on the reflector. Doesn't matter now as the little box let all the smoke out... :-(

How did you find your setup and can you post up the inside pics please?

Looks like you have drilled out the Hella plug and run the wires through it. I was considering removing the plug and replacing it with a rubber grommet.

Where did you mount the ballasts?

The wires come out of the plugs pretty easy, there is a small tab on the pin you can push back in and just pull the wire out the back, and drill the light plug out 4.5mm I think, and push them through and reconnect the plug again easy peasy.

I mounted my ballast on the underside of the top of the alum bull bar adjacent to the light, used it as a big heatsink, cause they get hot, just painted some liquid rubber around the seal of the case for additional sealing and some on the nuts through the bar to stop then coming loose.
