IT IS INDEED A FUEL FILTER HEATER, JUST LOOKED i ALSO HAVE IT ON MY 95 GRANROADWe have seen that before on this forum, only recently. Pretty sure it was never fitted in Australia, but one of our OS members posted up a picture of it. From memory it was a heater as you suggest.
Certainly sounds like it's sucking air if the primer compensates. All help extended if you Don't send bottle of jd 😉I will recheck all the lines! It is strange, if I slowly press the primer every couple seconds is stays running//
I'm an importer, have been for about 30 years. Always loved the Patrols and Safaris.Paladintruck, you are getting air in fuel at or before the injection pump. If before then its a fuel line or connection or filter head, fitting clear reinforced PVC lines in place of the flexible rubber lines will show where air is getting in.
Confirm this vehicle has the VE rotary injection pump? If so the problem is probably the injection pump governor selal gone hard and letting air in until the pump casing warms up and seals again. I do have a detailed write up on how to replace this seal on vehicle.....question is do you want to remove and reseal entire injection pump.
I have experience with this, if you want to discuss further just pm me for my number. I am in Canada.
If you want, send me your details (addy etc) leave the keys in it and I'll be happy to remove the offending vehicle for my own use!
Interested in how you acquired it.
Trying to source my type of primer with the fuel heater. Sifficult part to finssf, may just replace with the standard type and bypass heater lines. JD with be forthcoming if it worksCertainly sounds like it's sucking air if the primer compensates. All help extended if you Don't send bottle of jd 😉
