So I've been invited to join my uncle who I haven't seen for a while, on the trip of a lifetime to join 10 4by's in Melbourne for 12 days in the high country.

Only trouble is that we just bought our first house and the missus won't budge on not flying me down..

I'm desperately looking for a lift from someone heading to melbourne (i'm at Nambucca Heads - south of Coffs).

I'll even jump on the back of a postie bike if i have too :D on thursday 21st April - coming back Sunday 1st May

Anyways if you are..... or you know someone heading down that way let me know ( i know it's a long shot..)

Cheers

Checked the website, but seems $230 is the best they can do - one way on the 21st.

but thanks for the tip.

A lift with a truckie ????? I think I would take the train.

I have nothing against truckies, but I reckon any who are willing to go out of their way to pick you up and give you a lift to Melb will probably want something in return.

Otherwise call a car hire company and see if they need any cars taken to Melb, you may still have to contribute a small amount. But otherwise they have to pay staff or pay for a flatbed so they do do this sometimes.
My ex was a manager for europcar

make it a one way ticket mate because when you get back their will be no missus or house or car or dog, you may not even have a ball sack left.

p.s truckies love it when you tell them that they earn too much, after all they are just steering wheel atendents who sit on their arses all day doing jack **** ;)

thanks for all the help guys, and cross-dressing truckies (drillerboy).

Jed - had a look at the relocation sites last night.... had heard of them before but forgotten all about it. They seem to be the go, otherwise it will be 24hrs on a train for $200 bucks. What's the go mate - you didn't end up moving to Goodooga hahah..

Tonka - Mate it's awesome here, tried for years to get a transfer here through work and last year it all fell into place.
So i've only got another 32 years to do until retirement.

Thanks again for the help..
