Hi,

My mate bought a patrol diesel and the guy told him it has a new alternator but
its been wired wrong and needs fixing.

The battery light stays on and when I put a multimeter across the battery terminals
it was jumping between 2 and 12 volts?

I took the alternator off and got it tested and it came up 100% on the test bench.

I compared the wiring to the alternator to my diesel patrol and it all looks the same?

Its got me stuffed??

Could there be a broken wire somewhere?:confused:

Is the exciter wire firmly attached? Have you checked the voltage regulator?

exciter wire??

Is that the white and red small wire in the plug?

The regulator tested perfect on the test bench?
