Hey Guys,

Hoping the power of the forum can somehow save my ass.

Pretty sure the primer pump assembly on my patrol is leaking air.

ECU is spitting out 77 p7-f/inj timing fdbk and the ICV is down to 15% at idle.

With the engine off two pumps gets the primer hard and then I can hear a bit of a hissing/gurgling noise and the primer goes soft within 30 seconds.

The fuel filter is new and i've had two goes at making sure it is tight. Made sure I used the new o ring for the water sensor and the fuel lines all look to be in good condition.

I have rung a bunch of diesel/4wd specialist mechanics - as expected no answer.

Rang a couple of different Repco's they don't have a listing for the primer pump?

The reason I'm in a panic is we are meant to be picking up a camper trailer tomorrow and heading off for a week.

what about the seal on top of the filter? you put a new one in that?

to get you mobile..

Get a facet pump from Repco and fit into the supply line side of the filter......do a hot connection and see how you go..... this should get you going and the pressure before the filter might show where your leak is.

Have replaced the Nissan filter with a secondhand filter from a Mitsi Triton - about 35 bucks..... it has a better valve arrangement as well, and from memory takes the Nissan fuel filter...
