Hi currently converting a GQ to an LS2 or actually an L76

pretty much got it all nailed down now other than cooling the thing

options that I know of

1) Marks adapters engine driven fan conversion

2) au thermos fan conversion

question for option 1
Anyone know where else you can buy the stuff to adapt to a clutch fan engine driven, with out paying $900 and getting a new water pump
eg.. reverse rotation fan and pulleys etc

question for option 2
if running these type of thermos I'm running a Aussie desert cooler radiator extra thick 50mm core so I'm gathering space from engine to radiator may be very tight if even enough

the engine is fitted with a Marks kit bell housing , mounts etc

if anyone has some suggestions on an adequate fan system fire away

cheers Tassie

Hi Tassie,
Have a GU Ute with a LS3, originally used a Marks water pump and reverse rotation clutch fan with their fan shroud. Replaced it after a month. The fan noise was excessively loud. Now using 2 standard Nissan fans in front of aircon condenser & 2 16 inch fans between radiator and motor. The Nissan fans are manually switched, will wire these up to come on with the air conditioner also. The other 2 are switch by the ECU at 98 degrees temp, can change fan switching with HP Tuners software.
Theirs around 180 mm between radiator core and water pump, engine placement should not be much different from a GQ.

if you plan to run fans u need those au or ba or vy vz fans
most aftermarket ones wont keep up
problem is they are thick so u need radiator to engine clearance

if u have small clearance I recon the clutch fan might be tight fit aswell

most lsx cars ive played with I tell guys to run ef el au ba fans

If your using the Aussie Desert cooler just use their twin thermo fans and shroud.

I've used them on a couple of Patrol LS conversions and they work well.

the biggest mistake is people don't use fans with a shroud
also make sure when u get ecu flashed to tell them to drop the thermo fan kick in temps
