HI,

Got a TD42 GQ and the passenger side high beam isn't working. Parkers, low beam is fine but not high beam.

Testing:
what i've tried so far.
*put the globe on the drivers side and it works, high beam and low beam.

*put a meter on it and i get 12+v without the globe in but with it in its drops to 0.1v essentially nothing.

*Cleaned the contacts up a bit

any ideas?

That means you are seeing a "floating" voltage thru a very high resistance. So much so that the low resistance of the globe looks like a short or earth when you connect the plug IE all the voltage at very low current is dropped over the high resistance.

It is usually the plug (but you checked that) switch or relay contacts (GQ doesn't have one) in a circuit that cause that fault. Sure looks like the Combo switch will be the culprit now. Some guys have had success cleaning the contacts (fiddly job) so maybe give it a go and replace if that doesn't work
