ZD30 CRD

I'm getting a high pitch squeal on startup and for about 5 minutes into operating. Squeal gets louder as I accelerate. Occasionally can be heard after the 5 minutes, but the first 5 minutes is when it's most prominent. Haven't been able to pinpoint where the noise is coming from.

Not sure if it's relevant but have recently had the AC connection that goes through the firewall replaced as it was leaking. Maybe he left or knocked something loose in the process?

I've just been quoted $1500-2k for the exhaust manifold which includes machining

How much of that is labour for removing and installing the manifold? I think that’s a b !tch of a job.

Most of it I'd say. I think the maching is about $500 of it

From memory, some here indicted that the cost of a new manifold is not that far off the machining cost. Do you know how much a new one would be?
