Cheers mate. You don't happen to know around how much getting a shop to repair/replace would set me back do you?

I've just been quoted $1500-2k for the exhaust manifold which includes machining

How much of that is labour for removing and installing the manifold? I think that’s a b !tch of a job.

Most of it I'd say. I think the machining is about $500 of it

From memory, some here indicted that the cost of a new manifold is not that far off the machining cost. Do you know how much a new one would be?

I'm not sure I'll take a look. From what I've read the advantage of keeping the old one is it has been heat cycled and is less prone to warping in the future

Yes that is how I view it as well, the manifold has 'normalised'. The funny thing is this is relatively common on a CRD but uncommon on a DI, this could mean there may have been a change in supplier at some time who has a slightly different casting and curing process, or the original manufacturer changed their process.

I thought it was the result of the CRD running at higher EGT's rather than an actual change in the manifold
