I've just been quoted $1500-2k for the exhaust manifold which includes machiningCheers mate. You don't happen to know around how much getting a shop to repair/replace would set me back do you?
Most of it I'd say. I think the machining is about $500 of itHow much of that is labour for removing and installing the manifold? I think that’s a b !tch of a job.
I'm not sure I'll take a look. From what I've read the advantage of keeping the old one is it has been heat cycled and is less prone to warping in the futureFrom memory, some here indicted that the cost of a new manifold is not that far off the machining cost. Do you know how much a new one would be?
I thought it was the result of the CRD running at higher EGT's rather than an actual change in the manifoldYes that is how I view it as well, the manifold has 'normalised'. The funny thing is this is relatively common on a CRD but uncommon on a DI, this could mean there may have been a change in supplier at some time who has a slightly different casting and curing process, or the original manufacturer changed their process.
