Currently tripping across Australia in my troubled patrol(currently in Alice springs) I’m having a real issue starting it.

Takes a minute of cracking befor it starts!
gonna swap the glow plugs tomorrow but unsure how to remove them pic follows

How deep? I can’t seem to see a socket hex?

Not too deep. The hex starts no more than 25mm down the plug.

You need to remove the seal first. It just twists out. Then can get into the glow plugs. I’d be surprised if this is the issue with the starting tho cos I’d imagine it’s not that cold in Alice springs.
If it’s happening more when the car is warm, ie you drive around park for a bit then got to the shops and come back and it won’t start then your 100% looking at a pressure relief valve. Easy and cheap fix either way.
