decided to give a fast update,(now i am going to speak in miles as it's miles here not KMH) BUT i will also give the current figure too in kmh's for you.
RECAP:
i got my 04 patrol ZD30 with 80thousand miles on the clock (128k) had full history and the previous owner was a farmer and he said he never needed to do anything to it only the normal services.
he was honest enough to tell me before i took it that the DMF and clutch were shagged,so i bought this patrol, fitted a new solid flywheel and new clutch.
current update,
ok i am now at around 190000miles (305000 kmh) it is going the same as it was first day when i got it,i have not needed to touch a thing at all, only replace the power steering box (i got a good used one for 300euros) IMO this patrol runs as good now as when i got it first if not better now,i run it constant on dipetane diesel mix at a ratio of the reccomended 1:160 mix.
the only other thing i can report is whilst towing as i do every whole day as i deliver solid fuels and carry minimum over 2tonnes everyday on tow i drive very easy whilst on tow as i believe you can ruin and overheat an engine anytime depending on how you drive,i make my gearbox do the work and not engine so much, example on the motorway when i find slight hills i will drop to 4th rather than letting it pull 5th with weight on tow,and drop down again if needs be.
i clean my airfiler out every 500miles,i believe in summer time this is a big problem as they clog very easy.
so these are a few things i belive in,keep air filter very clean in summer time,it will mean you will never restrict your engine of air so it won't even start to run rich and throw out heaps of black smoke,as i say it just takes one trip to do damage if you have a clogged filter, maybe not today but could happen if you are careless, also i believe the dipetane mix is lubricating my injectors and upper engine whilst keeping engine clean and carbon free cause i have seen the results of this,i really believe it does help the fuel burn better,(hence less soot and running problems) i don't get any more throttle lag and ZERO black smoke,ever... should keep EGR cleaner as a consequence too i am hoping aswell as preventing piston rings sticking in older high milage engines and keeping the injector spray pattern as it should be.this patrol is on original MAF sensor also.
well i will update again hopefully in the coming future please god with heaps more milage.
i believe with how i run my patrol and the simple things i do there is no reason why it should not clock up well over 500- thousand MILES without having to do anything to the engine.
we'll see....(hope i'm right)
if the MAF has not given any trouble as of now i really don't see any reason to change it,i have got it tested again recently and it is reading perfect, mmm strange don't you think maybe it's a result of me keeping my airfilter so clean,if the air flow is kept constantly correct there is no reason (IMO) for malfunction and confusion for the MAF.
so that's 305000 kmh's here and really flying
